Zilla Parishad & Government Employees Co-operative Credit Society Ltd., Bhandara was established in 1962 and is registered under the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960. The society was founded by a small group of Zilla Parishad employees with a simple aim: to free salaried staff from private money-lenders by pooling their own savings.
Today the society serves over 4,200 members across Bhandara district — employees of the Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samitis and various state government offices. Working capital has grown to approximately ₹48 crore, built entirely on member share capital and deposits.
Every rupee of profit belongs to members. After statutory reserves, the society distributes dividend on share capital and funds member-welfare activities such as felicitation of retiring members, education awards for members' children and financial assistance to the families of deceased members.
जिल्हा परिषद व शासकीय कर्मचारी सहकारी पतसंस्था मर्या., भंडारा या संस्थेची स्थापना सन १९६२ मध्ये झाली असून ती महाराष्ट्र सहकारी संस्था अधिनियम, १९६० अंतर्गत नोंदणीकृत आहे. खाजगी सावकारीच्या विळख्यातून वेतनधारी कर्मचाऱ्यांची सुटका करण्याच्या उद्देशाने जिल्हा परिषदेच्या मोजक्या कर्मचाऱ्यांनी स्वतःच्या बचतीतून या संस्थेची मुहूर्तमेढ रोवली.
आज संस्था भंडारा जिल्ह्यातील ४,२०० हून अधिक सभासदांना सेवा देते — जिल्हा परिषद, पंचायत समित्या व विविध शासकीय कार्यालयांतील कर्मचारी. संस्थेचे खेळते भांडवल सुमारे ₹४८ कोटींवर पोहोचले असून ते पूर्णतः सभासदांच्या भागभांडवल व ठेवींवर उभे आहे.
नफ्याचा प्रत्येक रुपया सभासदांचाच आहे. वैधानिक निधीनंतर संस्था भागभांडवलावर लाभांश वाटप करते तसेच सेवानिवृत्त सभासदांचा सत्कार, सभासदांच्या पाल्यांना शैक्षणिक पुरस्कार व मयत सभासदांच्या कुटुंबीयांना आर्थिक मदत अशा कल्याणकारी योजना राबवते.
